Create your own motion game and play it on HomePlay. We are starting with a look at its creation environment, HomePlay Studio.

A first look at HomePlay, the idea we have been quietly building.

After a period of quiet development, we can finally share an early look at HomePlay. This introduction focuses on HomePlay Studio, the SaaS environment for creating games. We want to make it easier for someone who enjoys playing to become someone who makes their own play.

Start with an idea for movement

“Touch a light with your right hand.” “Follow the points on screen to the music.” The starting point is a movement you want to try. Studio is being developed around describing that idea in natural language, then shaping the scene and rules into a motion game.

Movement becomes a rule

Where should a target appear? Which body part should interact with it? What condition triggers a response? Adjusting these choices changes how a scene plays. We want creators to move between previewing, adjusting and trying the experience, bringing what they learn back into the design.

Make it, then play it on HomePlay

Our goal is a connected flow: create a game in Studio, try it, export it and play it on HomePlay. It opens a possibility beyond choosing an existing title: making a game for your own family or friends. The creation environment is a central part of that idea.

An early view of the Studio

The screen shown here is a development preview. It does not announce general availability or support for a specific environment. We will share more as we refine the workflow and the enjoyment of creating a game.
